One of my favorite ways to recharge is spending time at parks with my dog, Bo—either walking or simply people-watching. I’m fascinated by how humans adapt socially and physically to their environments, a curiosity that grew from the culture shock I experienced moving to the States at a young age.

I am a Senior Design Professional at HOK in Houston, where I’ve been part of the architecture technical team and contributed to large-scale, community-focused projects with the planning team. My experience centers on coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing large projects, and leading construction documentation efforts. I joined the HOK family as an intern during my master’s program at Texas Tech in 2017, and it has been where most of my professional growth has taken shape.

I’m currently pursuing architectural licensure and committed to growing as both a designer and a leader. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking to unwind, attending dance or yoga lessons, and meeting friends for brunch at Brasil on Westheimer—often with our pups in tow.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and grew up on the southwest side of town in Missouri City, where I was raised by my grandparents. I attended Willowridge High School in Fort Bend ISD and later earned my professional architecture degree from the University of Houston’s five-year program.

After college, I worked for several small firms focused on residential architecture, where I gained valuable hands-on experience designing custom homes and renovations. I also worked for a corporate educational architecture firm, contributing to the design and development of middle schools and high schools across Texas. That combination of experiences—one rooted in the personal scale of residential work and the other in the technical complexity of institutional design—ultimately propelled me to start my own company.

In 2018, after three years of preparation and perseverance, I became a licensed architect—an achievement that remains one of the proudest moments of my career. I love being an architect and am constantly seeking new ways to grow and refine my craft.

In June 2020, I launched B Ingenious Designs, a full-service architectural firm dedicated to thoughtful, high-quality design. I primarily focus on high-end residential projects, but I also take on light commercial work, including tenant build-outs and commercial renovation jobs. I believe that good design should be functional, creative, and deeply responsive to the needs of the people who use the space.

Today, I live in Pearland, Texas, with my wife and our three beautiful children—a six-year-old son and three-year-old twins. Balancing family life and running a business is no small task, but I take pride in doing both with heart, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

During his education, Javier served as Vice President of UHNOMAS, was a member of the DEI Task Force for the college, acted as student representative to LiA’s Collegiate and Mentorship Program, and was actively involved in many student organizations. As he entered the profession, he maintained his commitment to leadership by becoming a Board Member of Houston NOMA, co-chairing their Communication Committee, and co-chairing the JE:DI Collective of AIA Houston.

Through these opportunities and his dedication, Javier has advanced in leadership roles and now serves as the elected Vice President of Houston NOMA and a Board Member of AIA Houston. He remains a passionate advocate for underserved communities while providing resources and mentorship to students. Javier aspires to establish his own design practice. In his free time, he is a dedicated big brother, enjoys picnicking, has an interest in architectural photography, and loves exploring the city.

As a Senior Project Architect at Perkins&Will, Eric leads and contributes to teams delivering projects at the bleeding edge of the Science and Technology market sector. Eric is a technical resource and mentor in the office, where he co-leads monthly training sessions for junior staff. As a technical-minded architect, Eric loves to dive into the details. He firmly believes it is a confluence of ‘the little things’ that matter, and strives to produce elegant designs free of overcomplication. When not at work, Eric serves his community as the Vice President of the Mittlesteadt Estates HOA. These days the lion’s share of Eric’s time is spent as a devoted father to his two-year old son, Everett, three years ago you might have found him golfing, fly fishing, camping, or building furniture.
